At Italspazio, we're pushing the frontiers of space innovation with a specialized focus on the interception, characterization, and localization of electromagnetic sources via satellite technology. Here's a glimpse of what we've achieved and what's on the horizon:








ELINT Payloads
We’ve developed a satellite payload capable of intercepting, classifying, and geolocating radar and RF sources across a wide frequency band from 1 to 40 GHz. Leveraging a TDOA/FDOA-based architecture, our system eliminates the need for inter-satellite communication (ISLs), significantly reducing complexity and cost. Deployed on CubeSat constellations, the payload enables autonomous, resilient, and continuous electromagnetic surveillance for defense, border monitoring, and strategic intelligence operations.
GNSS Interference Detection Payloads
This specialized payload detects and classifies terrestrial interference sources affecting GNSS systems, including jamming and spoofing attacks. Equipped with AI-based signal analysis and onboard CSAC timing, it ensures precise autonomous geolocation without external synchronization. Designed for both civil and military use, this system supports aviation safety, critical infrastructure resilience, and secure navigation by identifying malicious interference in real time. Integration into satellite constellations enhances regional or global coverage.
Communication Payloads
We are developing advanced communication payloads for small satellites that support secure, high-speed data transmission between space and ground segments. These systems are built for encrypted links, modular bandwidth configurations, and low-latency relays, enabling applications in remote sensing, ISR, and IoT backhaul. Designed for CubeSats, our comms payloads extend mission capabilities across dual-use sectors by offering scalable data connectivity solutions tailored to diverse operational requirements.
Ground based Antenna Systems
Our terrestrial ground system supports the reception, processing, and characterization of data collected from Italspazio’s satellite payloads. Using our monopulse tracking technique, the antenna system enables precise satellite tracking and enhances signal triangulation. The ground segment is integrated with a cloud-based infrastructure, offering remote access to real-time intelligence for ISR, environmental monitoring, and defense applications. Ground station setup and training are provided directly to clients as part of pre-launch services.
Monopulse Systems
Our advanced monopulse subsystem provides direction-finding capabilities by identifying the angular origin of incoming signals. This technology is crucial not only for radar tracking and target acquisition, but also for signal triangulation in ELINT missions. Supporting both LEO and GEO satellite applications, our system enhances situational awareness and signal fidelity. Integrated into both satellite payloads and ground systems, it improves the overall accuracy and reliability of directional signal intelligence
Digital Tracking Receiver Systems
Italspazio has developed a multiband monopulse digital tracking receiver capable of high-precision antenna pointing and signal source localization from 70 MHz to 6 GHz (goal 9 GHz). The system combines dual-channel SDR architecture with cross-correlation algorithms to directly control ground antenna servos, replacing traditional analog IF chains. Ideal for LEO/GEO satellite tracking, launch vehicle tracking, and radar signal acquisition
